Nerni Invents Clock is a simple children’s story with whimsical art that depicts a young gnome inventor named Nerni. Nerni loves to invent things and eventually focuses her attention on inventing a clock to help her keep track of time. Not being satisfied with just any old clock, Nerni’s inventive natures compels her to improve her creation. By doing so, Nerni invents a clock that is a bit too smart for its own good. Jump Gate is a wonderful game that plays light but provides a heavier game experience without feeling heavy or difficult. Few games can provide this level of play and experience without demanding a great deal from the player or falling short on the “fun scale”. I would highly recommend Jump Gate to friends, family, game elitists, and the occasional light gamer. Continue reading
In Dicey Curves, players jump behind the wheel and race each other, jockeying for position and control. While speed is important, a skilled driver knows that positioning is just as important, if not more so. This is a light strategy race game where luck and tactics go hand in hand. Expect quick play and surprisingly engaging game mechanics that will have you looking for the best path and approach to victory! Continue reading
In this game, teams must work together to guess what an object or idea is via creative representation through bits of string, beads, wooden pawns, and other small pieces. This is a fast, fun, and creative family and party game that will allow mixed age groups to participate together and provide great social interaction. The game is familiar enough to be easily understood and unique enough to keep everyone interested. Get ready to be challenged, creative, and laugh out loud! Continue reading
In summary, I am very pleased with Spot It! The game is exceedingly light but has a special charm to it that makes it fun to play casually or seriously, quickly or at a slower pace. Spot It! easily adjusts to your needs and changes gears seamlessly from one mini game to another. Simply just a great family and little geek’s game! Continue reading
A deceptively complex and deep card game that will reward you with quick play, challenge your critical and logical thinking, and any semblance of strategy or tactics you might have learned with other card games. A bit too complex for your little geeks younger than 10, but for the Geek family with older little geeks, you can expect to have a good deal of fun at the family gaming table. Continue reading
Pentology is a modern day version of the traditional playing cards but with a firm footing in fantasy. To that end, Pentology is not a game in itself; no more or less than a deck of traditional deck of playing cards. It provides all one needs to be freely creative to design and play their own games. The sky is the limit with this gem and I couldn’t be happier. For so little, it delivers a seemingly endless variety and replay. Continue reading
This is a solitaire game where a player matches up different teams from the 2010 World Cup and plays the game out. Each team has statistical information that is used to determine the odds of success, game length, and outcome of events. It is a soccer statistical lovers dream come true as the player can replay again and again classic matches or come up with their own to see what might have been an incredible victory or a historic flop. Monster 4 is fun and light. The game is fast paced, well balanced, and streamlined making it easy to teach and exciting to play. Actions are determined by a die roll, but the player still gets to decide how they will do it. And, as it turns out, that is what makes all the difference in the world. Continue reading
