Zombi Final Game Review

You’ve always kept one step ahead of the undead masses that have overrun the city. Survival has been your only goal and you’ve managed to stay alive so far without incident. But your luck has officially run out and you now find yourself surrounded. Taking a deep breath, you tell yourself you can survive this if you just keep your cool. Of course, it would help if you had more ammo, but let’s try to stay positive here. Continue reading

Re: Your Brains Game Review

It’s the end of the world. Ironically, it fell on a Monday. You came into the office dreading the long week of soulless work ahead of you, but now things have become considerably worse. In addition to the unreasonable deadlines and heavy workload, you now have to deal with your undead co-workers who are roaming the halls hungry for your brain. Time to spruce up your résumé and survive. Gads, you hate Mondays… Continue reading

Spare Parts: The Game of Undead Army Building Game Review

When you told your peers at the university that you could reanimate dead flesh, they called you a “fraud” and “mad”. Mad? FRAUD?! You’ll show them! You’ve gathered all the supplies and equipment you need to build your own army of the undead. When complete, you’ll take over the world. That’ll show ’em who’s mad! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Continue reading

ZOMBIEPOX Game Review

It started with a fever and a call from a small town physician. You were sent to investigate and do some paperwork – nothing major. What you found was far more dangerous than expected. Two of the townspeople were running loose and reports that they were dead before they walked out is rather alarming. You make a quick call and the town is quarantined. The world outside might be safe, but the town and its people desperately need your help. Continue reading

Bad Neighbors Game Review

It was bound to happen. When the Zombie-Alien-Demon-Vampire Apocalypse erupted, your family was prepared for the worst. What you didn’t count on, ironically, was your neighborhood. The biggest threat is not the giant undead half-demon munching on your grandmother. Rather, it’s your neighbors who are quietly spying on you from behind closed curtains. This game is all about the survival of the fittest in the suburbs. Lock, load, and live! Continue reading

Smash Up Game Review

The premise of Smash Up is pretty simple. Take two of the eight Faction decks (that represent iconic heroes of geek culture) and shuffle them together to create a 40 card deck. Use Minions and Actions from that deck to attack and destroy the Bases before your opponent’s do. The faster you destroy a Base, the more Victory Points you earn. The first player to accumulate 15 Victory Points wins the game. Quick. Easy. Fun. Approved! Continue reading

If I’m Going Down… Game Review

The food ran out about a week ago. The water, just the other day. That’s it. Game over, man. A sarcastic smile crosses your face as you consider how long and hard you fought the undead only to come down to this: a starved, terribly thirsty, “survivor” who is about to be just another victim. Dang, that’s not the way you wanted it to end. Sad, really. Whatever. That’s loser talk. Fine. If that’s the way it’s going to be, so be it. You’ve got a handful of bullets left and enough spit and vinegar to keep fighting. If you’re going down, you are going to take as many of them with you as possible! Time for the finale! Continue reading

ZombieZone Game Review

The Zombie Invasion caught everyone by surprise. Despite the movies, the t-shirt slogans, and books that detailed how the zombies would attack and how to defend yourself, the population of the world shifted from alive and bored to undead and stiff. Once the initial shock wore off and the human race organized itself to fight and contain the zombie outbreak, life more or less returned to normal. Oh, sure, there were some changes. For example, EVERYONE now carried a handgun, graveyards had watchtowers, and the most popular TV show in history pitted willing living participants against mindless undead in a battle royal. In fact, you just signed a contract to be part of the next season, alive or undead. Good luck! Continue reading

Famous Zombies Game Review (prepublished version)

Zombies are among us and only have one thing on their rotting minds – eat the living. Of course, humanity won’t be going down without a fight, regardless of the odds. And the odds, well, they aren’t good. No matter! You must lead those who would follow you and take out the undead hoard before they get you! Later, when the survivors scramble back to camp, you can drop some names and boast about the more popular undead you took down. Never mind it cost you 10 or so “volunteers” to do so. Continue reading

Zombie Ninja Pirates Game Review

Zombie Ninja Pirates is a fun little game which is most certainly in the “beer and pretzels” category or, for our little geeks, “apple juice and graham crackers”. It’s meant to be a “flash in the pan” type of game where you plop it out on the table, play a few games, and then move on without having to exercise a large percentage of our brain. In this, the game does exceedingly well. Continue reading

Grave Business Game Review

In Grave Business, the player takes on the role of a necromancer (but not necessarily an evil one) and sends their zombie minions into the night to collect the necessary “components” to build their growing army of the undead and any discarded family heirlooms that might be left in the grave. Resources are limited as well as time. Work is made all the more complicated with outside competition from other necromancers who are digging in the same graveyard. There are only so many plots and zombie parts to go around so what is an enterprising young necromancer to do? Clearly, if you want to be on top, you have to take out the competition! Continue reading

Zombie Dice Game Review

Zombie Dice is a press your luck dice game lovingly wrapped around a zombie theme. Game play is very straight forward, but there is also an element of risk vs. reward which makes an otherwise dead simple game slightly more complex. This game plays fast which means it’s great for parties, quick filler games, and most importantly, little geeks. Continue reading
