Nitro Dice Game Review

In Nitro Dice, each player takes on the role of 1 of 6 drivers who race the curving streets of the city to see who will be claimed the “best of the best” in the Nitro Circuit. It’s a race to the finish but it’s more than just going faster than your opponents. This race is going to take as much smarts as it will speed. Continue reading

Nile DeLuxor Game Review

In Nile DeLuxor, players take on the role of farmers whose prosperity and fate are tightly intertwined with the great river, the Nile. But the river is uncontrollable and wild as it never stops flooding and retreating from the land. A wise player will learn to speculate and anticipate the changes to come. By doing so, they can make important choices that will offer great rewards. Failure to guess correctly will bring ruin. Continue reading

Wild Guns Game Review

In Wild Guns, the players take on the role of some of the most lethal and skilled gunslingers to ever walk the dusty ground of the Old West. There deadly aim and firearm mastery is only matched by their cunning to avoid being hit by their opponent’s bullets. This casual card game does a great job of getting the players down to business quickly and offering an entertaining and challenging game with light mechanics and fast play. Continue reading

In summary, I am very pleased with Spot It! The game is exceedingly light but has a special charm to it that makes it fun to play casually or seriously, quickly or at a slower pace. Pentology Game Review

Pentology is a modern day version of the traditional playing cards but with a firm footing in fantasy. To that end, Pentology is not a game in itself; no more or less than a deck of traditional deck of playing cards. It provides all one needs to be freely creative to design and play their own games. The sky is the limit with this gem and I couldn’t be happier. For so little, it delivers a seemingly endless variety and replay. Continue reading

Terra Game Review

Terra is a semi-cooperative card game about saving the world, not from aliens or mutants, but from ourselves. Well, that sounds very touchy-feely and not very exciting, you might say, and you would be right. But, as long as you are not expecting a deep game, it is a good choice for playing with early school age children. Continue reading

Slap Jack Game Review

In this game, each player is attempting to be faster than the other players and collect all the cards. This is done by literally slapping their hand down on a stack of cards when a specific card is revealed. If done correctly, their pile of cards will grow while their opponent’s piles quickly dwindle to nothing. This is a fast game that geeks of any age can play anywhere, anytime. Continue reading

Dead Man’s Treasure Game Review

Dead Man’s Treasure is an area majority card game, with a pasted-on theme of pirates competing for buried treasure. While the game has no randomness in the form of die rolls or the like, strategic play is less influential than good fortune in determining the winner. This is a fun light filler and I am sure it will return to the table often. Continue reading

Dixit Game Review

In Dixit, players take turns telling a short story, a description, or even making a sound based on colorful illustrations. This games requires all the players to listen, communicate, be imaginative, and have their wit at the ready. Continue reading
