The following is quasi-legal information for those of you who are interested in how Father Geek does what it does behind the scenes. Prepare to be epically bored…unless you are a lawyer, in which case, this should please you.
Your Privacy
Reader submitted email addresses are used by the Father Geek editorial staff to get in contact with the submitter if there are any questions regarding the content contribution. During a contest, emails submitted by participants are held until such time a winner is announced.
Email addresses and other contact information are removed from any and all online data and chucked headfirst into the Abyss after they have been used for the singular purpose of either obtaining additional information regarding a content contribution or informing the reader or contest participant. Emails entered into comments remain until the comment is removed.
Father Geek will never sell, print, share or distribute contact information to any 2nd or 3rd party group no matter how many gazillions of dollars they offer us. And if a 4th party should suddenly exist and ever approach us, we’ll tell them to take a hike, too.
Content Contribution
Any and all information sent to the Father Geek is submitted for review and published as time allows. Submission of material does not guarantee publication. If there are any questions regarding your submitted content, Father Geek will contact you using the email you provided. If the emails go unanswered after 1 week, the content contribution is discarded. Readers are welcome and encouraged to contribute as often as they like. See Contribute for more details.

Contests, Promotions, and Giveaways
Winners of contests, promotions, and giveaways are selected using the random number generator available from random.org or Rafflecopter.com. Winners are contacted via their provided email and have 72 hours (3 days) to respond with their address. If a winner’s email is incorrect or does not respond within 72 hours, another winner will be selected. See Giveaways for the current contests hosted by Father Geek.
Sponsored Content & Review Products
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) legally requires all sites that derive any income from a post to identify it as “sponsored content”. Father Geek will identify any such content in the footer of the post. While Father Geek might not endorse any linked to subject matter, we do ensure that all content we publish is appropriate. Specifically, does not glamorize drugs, alcohol, firearms, or any adult related material; nor do the links included in the posted article resolve to such content on other web sites. If any such links are found by the reader, they are strongly encouraged to report it immediately to us using the contact form.
All content that is sponsored is grouped under a single category for easy reference.
Additionally, the FTC legally requires all sites to disclose any products received for reviews. We will provide information in the article footer that clearly states the product in question was provided to us.
For full FTC guidelines, please see the FTC Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising document.
