About Cyrus

Editor in Chief, Owner/Operator, Board Game Fanatic, Father of Three, and Nice Guy, Cyrus has always enjoyed board, card, miniature, role playing, and video games, but didn't get back into the hobby seriously until early 2000. Once he did, however, he was hooked. He now plays board games with anyone and everyone he can, but enjoys playing with his children the most. Video games continue to be of real interest, but not as much as dice and little miniatures. As he carefully navigates the ins and outs of parenting, he does his very best to bestow what wisdom he has and help nurture his children's young minds. It is his hope and ambition to raise three strong, honorable men who will one day go on to do great things and buy their Mom and Dad a lobster dinner. Cyrus goes by the handle fathergeek on Board Game Geek. You can also check him out on CyrusKirby.com. Yes, he has a URL that is his name. His ego knows no bounds, apparently....

Good Help Game Review

In Good Help, the players take on the role of an evil scientist whose single objective is to build a terrible monster and destroy the town that has ridiculed them in their youth. First thing they need to do is hire some Assistants to run errands for them, especially the more unsavory ones. The problem is, good help is hard to find, especially in the business world of evil scientists. Continue reading

You must bid, bluff, outmaneuver, and out guess the other players before they do the same to you! Continue reading

Meta-Forms Game Review

Mixing colors, shapes, and logical thinking, Meta-Forms challenges the player to correctly place puzzle pieces on a 3×3 grid by following illustrated clues that provide all or just some of the information needed. By thinking logically about each piece, deductive reasoning, and elimination, the puzzles can be solved. The more difficult the puzzle, the less information is given, but each piece placed is a step in the right direction. Through trial and error, each puzzle can be solved and the game won! Making it even more complicated are ants who want to eat the animals food and a raging bull who simply will not get along with anyone. It’s a tough job being an animal keeper and even tougher to keep all the animals happy! Continue reading
