Portals and Prophets Game Review

Jamaican-born political leader, publisher, journalist, entrepreneur, and orator, Marcus Garvey, said "A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots." Suggesting that to know who you really are, you must also know from where you and your family came from. What if you could travel through time to see the past in the present? In this game you can, connecting dots and faith through the centuries.

Filibuster Game Review (prepubished version)

American author, politician, U.S. Ambassador and public conservative figure, Clare Boothe Luce, said "They say women talk too much. If you have worked in Congress you know that the filibuster was invented by men." As a political tool, a filibuster can best be thought of as a blunt instrument, at best. Poetry Slam Game Review

American poet, Robert Frost, said "Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words." Which begs the question what is going on when my youngest says, "Roses are red, violets are blue, I got some gum stuck to my shoe." Which he did. Poetry, it would seem, can be about anything. Emotional, entertaining, and downright odd. It all works. Which is good because that's what this game requires.

Brain Freeze Game Review

Ouch! Too much ice cream! Don't you hate it when you do that? Nothing worse than a brain freeze when you are enjoying a cold treat on a warm day. You could always slow down, sure, but you can't! It'll melt! It's a conundrum that science hasn't solve yet. Come on, NASA! Get your priorities straight! Until they do, you'll need to slow down and think it through. The same can be said about this game.

Telepathy Game Review

Telepathy is the ability to communicate using the mind, without the other senses. Fiction? Possibly. But then how do you explain the uncanny ability of twins or very close individuals who can communicate without speaking a word or even being in the same room? While science and science fiction may disagree on the authenticity of telepathic powers, you don't need to be a mind reader to play this game.

Pucket Game Review

One of the most well-known Italian polymaths of the Renaissance, Leonardo da Vinci, said "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication." Activities don't have to be difficult to be entertaining, and seemingly simple tasks can be surprisingly complex. For example, how difficult can it be to pass a small wooden puck to another side of a board? The answer will surprise you. Wait, no it won't.
