Your duty and honor are without question. What remains to be tested is your loyalty. The Shogun is dead and old feuds and past insults are causing strife between the clans. A successor must be named and it's up to you, the clan leader, to ensure that justice is done to right old wrongs and claim the title of the next Shogun.

When I first started getting back into board games in the early 1990's (which sounds like a very long time ago - sadly), I felt overwhelmed by the sheer number and variety of games available. The interweb was not up to speed yet in regards to selling games, so everything had to be purchased at the friendly local game store. Today, things are very different, but the doubts are all the same.
When you imagine a game full of depth, tactics, and strategy, a game with many bits that is stored in a box most likely comes to mind. But what if a game could be no bigger than a stick of gum and still provide you with everything you crave from larger games? Impossible you say? Then prepare to be amazed as I show you how a game small in stature plays like a giant at the gaming table.
The earliest card game that somewhat resembles today's deck of cards is Karnöffel, which was played in the 15th century. Since them, cards have found their way into many different games. Cards can be used as markers, values, and even monsters. But the shape of the card has changed little. In this pack of cards, the complete game is contained in a small box no bigger than a package of gum. Chew on that for a moment.
