I highly recommend you give Meteor a try but do so knowing that this little game is going to test you. Game play is very simple, but accomplishing your goal is not. If you are up to the challenge and know a group of players who feel the same, Meteor is the game for you. The soft-hearted should avoid it, however. Meteor will make you cheer or go running to the nearest fallout shelter to curl up in a small ball in the corner, weeping. And that is a very good thing!
Caveman Curling is a great mix of classic flick-action game play with a fun theme and interesting uses of special pieces. The game is a fun one and has kept my family, friends, and me engaged, frustrated, and elated over and over again. If that's not worth two thumbs up, I don't know what is.
Board, card, and dice games come with lots and lots of bits. Keeping track of all those pieces can be a chore. This is especially true when you get your little geeks involved! One Motherly Geek has come up with a solution and a system that works for her, despite the "help" her twin toddlers insist on giving her.
Ordering a pizza should be an easy exercise, but what if you can't get everyone to agree on what kind of pizza? Instead of compromising, you should handle the situation the Geek Way! Dominate your opponent with your toppings of choice, slice out the competition and gain control over more and more of the pizza! In the end there can be only one..topping. Of course, you could always just order another pizza, but that's not the point I'm trying to make here.
Fantasy is the new western. The guys in the black hats have been replaced by the army with black clouds overhead. But is all this fantasy stuff really good for kids? I will state emphatically that it is! Just as I learned from westerns a thing or two about honor and fighting for your beliefs against seemingly insurmountable odds, my son has learned the same from fantasy.
