Standing above the battlefield, you survey your troops. On the horizon, you can just make out the enemy camps. Between your army and your opponent is a green valley that will soon be host to a bloody battle. You will lose warriors, but with cunning, you should be able to outthink your opponent and achieve victory. You only hope that luck is with you as you lead your army to meet your destiny.
The forest is not a peaceful place. While a hiker passing through might capture a glance of a doe and her fawn, see the birds in the trees, and hear the soft babbling of the brook that feeds into the large river, there is a great deal not detected. This forest plays host to a secret war. A battle for resources and control. The rival beaver clans have grouped together with brave leaders on both sides ready for combat. Before the last tree falls, only one Clan Den will prevail!
As your team runs out before the crowd, with the fans waving flags and cheering, you are filled with a wave of excitement! Your team has come a long way and proven itself to be true competitors. Now you are up against your greatest challenge and it's time to see if all the practicing and drilling has paid off. As your players takes their positions on the field, you realize it's too late to worry and focus on the game at hand.
The roar of the crowd is deafening, but you don't hear them. All your attention is focused on the game. Your assistant coaches stand a respectful distance away, but are noticeably anxiousness. Looking into the field, you see your quarterback standing in the huddle, looking at you for direction. It's the 4th quarter with 30 seconds left on the clock. The next choice you make could win the game or send you home, defeated. Taking a deep breath, you call the play, hoping you made the right choice.
Space. Infinitely vast, cold, and deadly. The few planets that are inhabitable float in an endless empty void. Peace is only found between the dark spaces where nothing stirs. For when two or more intergalactic warships encounter each other in the dark starlit nothingness, where once there was only silence is now the violence of war and the horror of death. Ready your warship, Admiral. It's time to earn your commission.
