Top Promoter Game Review

Legendary boxing promoter Don King said, “I don’t promote boxing, I promote people. Boxing is a catalyst to bring people together.” In this game, players will be doing the same. It’s not about the boxing, it’s about the people and the money it attracts. As a boxing promoter, you need to work with other promoters to create engaging boxing matches, but you don’t want your boxer to lose. Losers don’t take home paychecks. Continue reading

Hand-Off Game Review

When it comes to favorite seasonal sports, football is often at the top of many people’s lists. It’s a game where stats and names are thrown back and forth at social gatherings like so many pigskins flying through the air. It’s an event that brings friends, family, and communities together. For some, it’s not a sport at all; it’s a religion. Football is shown on television screens across America, and for those who enjoy a good dice, card, or board game, football can be played at the kitchen table, too. Continue reading

Disc Duelers Game Review

When I was a little geek, I played Paper Football with my friends during our lunch breaks and out on the playground. The game required a sharp eye, a cool head, and surprisingly strong finger flicking skills. This was my first tabletop Action/Dexterity game and continues to be one I enjoy today. There is something about games that allow you to physical interact with your opponent and game bits that I find satisfying. In this game, you need to be able to duck and dodge, using strategy and tactics to win. Much better than Paper Football. Continue reading

Table Golf Game Review

I believe Golf is fundamentally flawed. You have to pay to play a game that is all about taking a walk, while attempting to hit a very small ball into a very small hole with a metal stick. To me, that’s the very definition of insanity. Many believe differently, however. Oddly enough, I have no problem playing Golf-like games. For example, Disc Golf or this game, which is all about chucking small cards. Continue reading

Fastrack: NHL Edition Game Review

Hockey is one of those games that you don’t need to know how to play to enjoy. A typical hockey game is a blur of ice and flying sticks. Keeping an eye on the puck proves to be very difficult at times as it whizzes back and forth between players. Sometimes the game is a ballet of synchronized procession and sometimes a brutal brawl of punches. The ice rink might be cold, but the games are always hot. Now you can put the heat on your coffee table, too. Continue reading

Wizard Dodgeball Game Review

Once a year, wizards and witches gather to witness one of the most popular sports found in multiple interplanar dimensions. Throughout the season, Wizard Dodgeball teams have been competing in the rankings. At the end of the year, the top 2 teams face each other. While the game is non-lethal, it’s nonetheless intense. Fireballs and rubber balls fly from one end of the field to the other constantly. Grab your wand and lace up your sneakers! It’s game time! Continue reading

Slapshot Game Review

The air is cool and the ice is smooth. All around you scream the fans and before you sits your team. They look up to you, their Team Manager, and wait for your words of wisdom before taking the ice. You have worked hard to create the best team possible, trading players and drafting new ones. A quick look at the opposite team tells you they think they have the advantage, but a game is not won until it’s played. And, baby, you can play a mean game of ice hockey. Continue reading

As your team runs out before the crowd, with the fans waving flags and cheering, you are filled with a wave of excitement! Your team has come a long way and proven itself to be true competitors. Now you are up against your greatest challenge and it’s time to see if all the practicing and drilling has paid off. As your players takes their positions on the field, you realize it’s too late to worry and focus on the game at hand. Continue reading

Dice Bowl Football Game Review

The roar of the crowd is deafening, but you don’t hear them. All your attention is focused on the game. Your assistant coaches stand a respectful distance away, but are noticeably anxiousness. Looking into the field, you see your quarterback standing in the huddle, looking at you for direction. It’s the 4th quarter with 30 seconds left on the clock. The next choice you make could win the game or send you home, defeated. Taking a deep breath, you call the play, hoping you made the right choice. Continue reading

Pizza Box Football Game Review

This game is easy to grasp, set up and play. It feels like football, so it’s a great game for Child, Parent, and Gamer Geeks who love the sport. I have owned this game for a few years, and played it with my son when he was younger, and played with adults re-enacting the Super Bowl. Continue reading

Penguin Soccer Game Review

The game of soccer is celebrated, played, and followed just about everywhere in the world. It should then come as no surprise that a family of Penguins also enjoy playing the game! Instead of a field, they have a patch of ice, but that hardly makes any difference. The game is still the same and is just as challenging, if not more so. Now you can play the game with them and use all your strategic and tactical skills to score a goal! Careful! One wrong slip on the ice and you could find yourself losing the game! Continue reading

Index Pro Soccer: 2010 World Cup Game Review

This is a solitaire game where a player matches up different teams from the 2010 World Cup and plays the game out. Each team has statistical information that is used to determine the odds of success, game length, and outcome of events. It is a soccer statistical lovers dream come true as the player can replay again and again classic matches or come up with their own to see what might have been an incredible victory or a historic flop.
